In a heartfelt show of admiration and solidarity, a prominent Niger Delta figure and former women leader of the Egbema Youth Council (EYC), Comrade Happy Nawei, has joined numerous well-wishers across the region to celebrate the birthday anniversary of Chief (Ex-Gen.) Aroni Oputu.
Chief Aroni Oputu, a respected figure in the Niger Delta struggle and a key stakeholder in the Presidential Amnesty Programme, currently serves as the President of the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators Forum (Phase 1). Over the years, he has remained a prominent voice in advocating for peace, stability, and sustainable development within the oil-rich region.
Beyond his leadership among ex-agitators, Chief Oputu also plays a crucial role in governance as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Security to the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sheriff Oborevwori. In this capacity, he continues to contribute to strengthening security coordination and fostering peace initiatives across communities in the state.
Speaking on the occasion of the birthday anniversary, Comrade Happy Nawei described Chief Oputu as a courageous leader whose commitment to the unity and progress of the Niger Delta has inspired many young people in the region.
According to her, his journey from the days of agitation to becoming a respected advocate for peace and development demonstrates the true spirit of transformation envisioned under the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
She praised Chief Oputu for his unwavering dedication to community service, security advocacy, and youth empowerment, noting that his leadership continues to bridge the gap between government authorities and grassroots stakeholders in the Niger Delta.
