High Chief Pere Ejune Goki Congratulates New INC Executive, Hails Ijaw Leaders for Reconciliation

High Chief Pere Ejune Goki, JP, Baminepere IV of Ajakurama Town, Egbema Kingdom, Edo State, has congratulated the newly constituted executive of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), led by High Chief MacDonald Ebi Igbadiwei, Esq., following the restoration of peace and unity within the apex Ijaw socio-cultural organisation.
Ejune Goki also commended Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State and other prominent Ijaw leaders and stakeholders whose interventions contributed to resolving the disagreements surrounding the INC leadership process.
His commendation followed the Mega Unity Reception hosted by Governor Diri at Ijaw House, Yenagoa, on September 1, 2026, where prominent Ijaw leaders and stakeholders gathered to consolidate the reconciliation process.
The traditional leader particularly appreciated the efforts of Governor Diri, Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali, Dr Kingsley Kuku, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and other stakeholders involved in the reconciliation process.
He described the restoration of peace within the INC as an important development for the Ijaw nation, stressing that unity among Ijaw leaders was essential to effectively address the challenges confronting Ijaw communities.
Ejune Goki congratulated High Chief MacDonald Ebi Igbadiwei and members of the new INC executive, urging them to use the opportunity created by the reconciliation to build a stronger, more united and inclusive organisation.
He called on the new leadership to ensure that all Ijaw clans, communities and interest groups are carried along in the affairs of the Congress.
The Baminepere IV of Ajakurama Town further urged the new INC executive to pay particular attention to Ijaw communities in Edo State and other parts of the Niger Delta where, according to him, the people continue to face political, economic and developmental challenges.
He stressed the need for greater political inclusion, community development, protection of ancestral lands and stronger representation of Ijaw interests at all levels of government.
Ejune Goki also commended traditional rulers, political leaders, youth organisations, community leaders and other stakeholders who supported the reconciliation process.
He urged all parties who may still have grievances to embrace the new chapter and allow the spirit of reconciliation to prevail.
According to him, the current development should mark the beginning of a new era of unity, inclusiveness, justice and purposeful leadership within the Ijaw nation.
He expressed optimism that a united INC would be better positioned to champion the legitimate interests of the Ijaw people and contribute meaningfully to the development of Ijawland.
