Opuama Elders Forum Warns Against Alleged Campaign of Calumny, Backs Community Leaders

The Opuama Elders Forum (OEF) of Opuama Community, Egbema Kingdom, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, has warned Mr. Goodluck Ojusin to desist from what the forum described as a campaign of calumny against prominent leaders of Opuama Community and Egbema Kingdom.
The forum, in a press statement dated September 10, 2026, said Mr. Ojusin had used social media platforms to make allegations of corruption and misappropriation of community funds against several community leaders.
Those mentioned, according to the statement, include Hon. Alhaji Emmanuel Omoko, the Bolouwei I of Egbema Kingdom; Hon. Spencer Okubo Okpoye, Commissioner representing the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC); and Amb. Jude Ebitimi Ukori (JP), former Chairman of the Egbema-Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation (EGCDF).
The Opuama Elders Forum, led by Elder Alex Adanse, Elder Stanley B. Ejoor, Elder Francis Korokoro, Mr. Godfrey Omoko, Chief Census Bene and others, described the allegations as baseless and unfounded.
The elders said they would ordinarily not respond to social media attacks but considered it necessary to speak out to prevent members of the public from being misled by what they described as unsubstantiated claims.
According to the forum, the leaders named in the allegations have made significant contributions to the welfare and development of Opuama Community and Egbema Kingdom.
The elders specifically expressed support for Alhaji Emmanuel Omoko and the other leaders, saying they had sacrificed for the development of the community and positively impacted the lives of residents.
The forum also warned Mr. Ojusin and what it described as his sponsors and mischief makers to stop further attacks on the integrity of the community leaders.
The OEF said it had passed a vote of unalloyed confidence in the leadership of Alhaji Emmanuel Omoko, Hon. Spencer Okpoye, Amb. Jude Ukori (JP) and others mentioned in the statement.
The elders further urged Mr. Ojusin to retrace his steps, stressing that continued attacks on the leaders would not be tolerated by the community’s elders.
