The Uroupa Family, the people of Ofunama Community, and the entire Egbema Kingdom have been thrown into mourning following the passing of one of the community’s most distinguished sons and former National President of the Ofunama Federated Communities, Late Robinson Uroupa.
According to a statement released by the family, the respected community leader passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, after a brief illness. His demise has been described as a monumental loss to Ofunama Community, Egbema Kingdom, and the wider Ijaw nation, where he was widely admired for his selfless service, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to community development.
During his tenure as National President of the Ofunama Federated Communities, Late Robinson Uroupa distinguished himself as a transformational leader whose administration prioritized infrastructure, education, and the welfare of the people. Through his dedication and ability to mobilize support for community development, several landmark projects were successfully executed, many of which continue to benefit residents today.
