STOP THE “DEMONIC” AND UNVERIFIED ATTACKS ON IJAW LEADERS — EFERUSUOA ENDURANCE

Comrade Eferusuoa Endurance, former Special Assistant to the Edo State Government, has called for an end to what he described as a series of “demonic,” unverified and misleading attacks against prominent Ijaw leaders across the Niger Delta.
Endurance, in a statement, said his attention had been drawn to allegations being circulated against High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo; High Chief Alhaji Emmanuel Omoko, the Bolouwei of Egbema Kingdom; Dr Dennis Burutu Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme; and High Chief Kestin Pondi.
ENDURANCE: STOP THE PULL-HIM-DOWN SYNDROME
The former Special Assistant described the allegations as unverified and misleading, warning what he called “mischief makers” to desist from what he characterized as a persistent “pull-him-down syndrome” among some elements within the Ijaw Nation.
Endurance strongly condemned the allegations and stated: “I strongly condemn such allegations and give my unwavering support for High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, Tantita Security Services, and Dr Dennis Burutu Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.”
He maintained that rather than concentrating on attacking individuals and leaders through social media, Ijaw people should focus on constructive engagement and initiatives capable of attracting development to communities across the Niger Delta.
According to him, responsible criticism should be based on facts and established information rather than unverified claims capable of creating division among the people.
“IJAW NATION NEEDS GENUINE AND SELFLESS LEADERS”
Endurance argued that the challenges facing many Ijaw communities require collective responsibility and leadership focused on development.
He maintained that the people should look beyond social-media controversies and utilize their positions, influence and connections to advance the interests of the Ijaw Nation.
“It is time for us as a people to think and look beyond attacking leaders on social media. It is time for us to use our positions, influences and connections to bring Ijaw Nation to where it ought to be in our country and the world at large,” he stated.
CALL FOR UNITY AND CONSTRUCTIVE ENGAGEMENT
Endurance further urged Ijaw stakeholders to promote unity and constructive criticism while avoiding the spread of allegations that have not been established.
His intervention comes amid his concerns over what he described as increasing attacks directed at individuals he identifies as prominent Ijaw leaders.
He appealed to stakeholders and members of the public to prioritize development, unity and the collective interests of Ijaw communities over social-media confrontations.
