DONBEN DOYEGHA HAILS GOVERNMENT EKPEMUPOLO AS AFRIMMA HONOURS TOMPOLO WITH ‘GUARDIAN OF THE NATION’ AWARD

GELEGELGBENE — The international recognition of Niger Delta leader High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) has drawn a warm personal commendation from Chief Hon. Engr. DonBen Doyegha, National Youth Leader of PANDEF and Coordinator, GOC TOMPOLO Vanguard, Olodiama Kingdom.
Tompolo was honoured with the “Guardian of the Nation” Award at the AFRIMMA ceremony held in Dallas, Texas, on September 12, 2026.
The recognition placed Tompolo among the distinguished personalities celebrated at an event widely associated with African music and entertainment, while also highlighting his public role in matters relating to the Niger Delta and the protection of Nigeria’s critical national assets.

Reacting to the recognition, Chief DonBen Doyegha described the AFRIMMA honour as a significant moment worthy of celebration, conveying his goodwill and best wishes to Tompolo on the international recognition.

AFRIMMA’S RECOGNITION OF TOMPOLO
The “Guardian of the Nation” Award was presented to Tompolo as a special honour distinct from AFRIMMA’s conventional music and entertainment categories.
Reports surrounding the ceremony linked the recognition to his role in the protection of Nigeria’s critical national assets, particularly efforts associated with combating crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism, as well as broader issues of peace, community empowerment, employment and development in the Niger Delta.
Tompolo is the chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, a company involved in surveillance and security operations around Nigeria’s oil and gas infrastructure.
