INC Benin City Chapter, Edo Ijaw Clans Congratulate Hon. Sam Uroupa and Princess Ebiseni on Victory in INC National Election

The Ijaw National Congress (INC) Benin City Chapter, in collaboration with the five recognized Ijaw Clans in Edo State, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Samson A. Uroupa and Princess (Mrs.) Adeshola Joyce Ebiseni following their successful emergence in the recently concluded INC National Election.
The election, which was held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Ijaw House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, was widely regarded as peaceful, credible, and reflective of the democratic values and unity of the Ijaw National Congress.
Hon. Samson A. Uroupa was elected as National Organizing Secretary, while Princess (Mrs.) Adeshola Joyce Ebiseni emerged as National Women Affairs Secretary, two strategic offices expected to strengthen administration, grassroots mobilization, and inclusive participation across the organization.
According to leaders of the Benin City Chapter, the victories of both candidates demonstrate the confidence reposed in them by delegates from the Western, Central, and Eastern Zones, including City Chapters and members of the National Representative Council.
They also commended the internal zoning arrangement and consensus-building framework adopted by the Congress, noting that it has continued to promote peace, fairness, brotherhood, and unity among the Ijaw people.
The chapter noted that despite the competitive nature of the election, delegates acted with maturity and responsibility by preserving the sanctity of the established zoning system and supporting candidates considered capable and experienced.
The leadership urged the newly elected officers to justify the trust placed in them through visionary leadership, accountability, and impactful service to the Ijaw nation.
They expressed confidence that Hon. Uroupa would bring strategic planning, organizational discipline, and renewed energy to the office of National Organizing Secretary, while Princess Ebiseni would champion women empowerment, inclusion, and welfare programs as National Women Affairs Secretary.
The Benin City Chapter and the five Ijaw Clans in Edo State reaffirmed their readiness to support the new executives and work collectively for the growth, unity, and progress of the Ijaw National Congress.
They further appreciated all delegates, elders, women leaders, youths, and stakeholders whose contributions ensured a peaceful and successful national electoral process.
The statement concluded with prayers for wisdom, strength, and success for the new officers during their tenure.
