Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku Set to Host Maiden 2026 International Hybrid Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development
The School of Applied Sciences, Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku, has announced plans to host its maiden 2026 International Hybrid Conference, a groundbreaking academic gathering expected to bring together scholars, researchers, innovators, policymakers, and development experts from within and outside Nigeria to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in national development.
The highly anticipated conference, scheduled to hold from July 6th to July 9th, 2026, at the ICT Centre/Event Centre of the institution in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, is themed:
“Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research/Innovation for Sustainable National Growth and Development.”
The conference is being organized as part of ongoing efforts to deepen conversations around the application of emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, in solving contemporary developmental challenges facing Nigeria and the global community.
According to the conference organizers, the event will provide a strategic platform for intellectual engagement, innovative research presentations, policy discussions, and collaborative partnerships aimed at promoting scientific advancement and sustainable national transformation through AI-driven solutions.
The organizers emphasized that the conference will examine the nexus between Artificial Intelligence, innovation, scientific research, and sustainable growth, while also encouraging multidisciplinary contributions capable of shaping future academic and developmental policies.
Call for Abstracts and Research Papers
Researchers and scholars from universities, polytechnics, research institutes, industries, and related professional fields have been invited to submit original research abstracts and full papers relevant to the conference theme.
The conference committee disclosed that abstracts should not exceed 250 words and must clearly state the objectives, methodology, and findings of the proposed research. Contributors are also expected to provide their names, institutional affiliations, contact addresses, and phone numbers.
Full papers are expected to range between 6,000 and 7,000 words using APA referencing style.
The deadline for abstract submission has been fixed for June 30th, 2026, while the deadline for full paper submission is July 5th, 2026.

Distinguished Academic Personalities to Grace the Event
The conference is expected to feature several distinguished academics and renowned professionals from various institutions across Nigeria and beyond.
Among the personalities billed for the conference are:
- Professor Nyenrovwo Johnbull Tonukari, Professor of Biochemistry at Harborfield University and Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education in Delta State, who will serve as the keynote speaker.
- Professor Hillary Owamah, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) at Delta State University Abraka, listed as Lead Paper Presenter I.
- Dr. Moses Yilleng of the Laboratory for Applied Modelling (LAMM), North West University, who will serve as Lead Paper Presenter II.
- Dr. (Mrs.) Erere Joy Anho, Rector of Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku, who will serve as Chief Host of the conference.
Conference Participation and Registration

The organizers announced that early bird registration for local participants has been fixed at ₦20,000, while regular registration stands at ₦25,000. Students are expected to pay ₦10,000, while international participants and international students will pay $50 and $20 respectively.
