Former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Edo State on Waterways Security and Surveillance, General Amokachi Peretei, has praised the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, for what he described as his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of beneficiaries of the programme.
Amokachi made this known in a personal message sent to Global Egberi TV Ofunama, where he spoke on behalf of Third Phase Amnesty leaders in Edo State.
In the message made available to the Media Desk of Global Egberi Media International Limited, the former gubernatorial aide expressed profound appreciation for Dr. Otuaro’s performance since assuming office as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme. He noted that the PAP boss has continued to demonstrate purposeful leadership through initiatives that have positively impacted beneficiaries and strengthened confidence in the programme.
According to Amokachi, the Third Phase Amnesty leaders in Edo State are pleased with the direction of the programme under Dr. Otuaro’s stewardship, adding that his administration has brought renewed hope to many ex-agitators and stakeholders across the Niger Delta.
He stated that Dr. Otuaro deserves recognition and appreciation from the people for what he described as his dedication, commitment, and selfless service to the advancement of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
“On behalf of the Third Phase Amnesty leaders in Edo State, we appreciate Dr. Dennis Otuaro for the remarkable work he is doing in the Amnesty Office. His commitment to the welfare of beneficiaries and the overall objectives of the programme deserves commendation and recognition,” Amokachi said.
The former Edo State government aide also reacted strongly to allegations recently levelled against the PAP Administrator, describing them as entirely false, malicious, and without any factual basis.
He maintained that those behind the allegations were merely attempting to distract the Administrator from the important responsibilities entrusted to him and urged members of the public not to be misled by what he called unfounded accusations.
Amokachi stressed that the records and achievements of Dr. Otuaro in office speak louder than the allegations being circulated against him, insisting that the Administrator has remained focused on delivering the mandate of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
He therefore called on beneficiaries, stakeholders, and the people of the Niger Delta to continue supporting the current leadership of the Amnesty Programme in order to sustain peace, stability, and development across the region.
Since his appointment as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in March 2024, Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro has initiated several reforms aimed at improving the effectiveness of the programme. These include educational support, vocational and entrepreneurial training, strategic stakeholder engagement, peace-building initiatives, and efforts to strengthen sustainable livelihoods for beneficiaries.
The endorsement from General Amokachi Amokachi, speaking on behalf of Third Phase Amnesty leaders in Edo State, reflects growing confidence among stakeholders who believe the current administration of the Presidential Amnesty Programme is focused on consolidating peace and expanding opportunities for ex-agitators and communities in the Niger Delta.
While acknowledging that public office often attracts scrutiny, Amokachi urged critics to allow due process and rely on verifiable facts rather than speculation, emphasizing that constructive engagement is more beneficial to the continued success of the Amnesty Programme than campaigns of misinformation.
