Ijaw Nation Celebrates Another Global Academic Milestone as Kemien Favor Egbekun Earns LL.M. Distinction in the United Kingdom

The Ijaw National Congress (INC), Western Zone, has congratulated one of the brightest daughters of the Ijaw Nation, Miss Kemien Favor Egbekun, Esq., on her outstanding academic achievement of graduating with a Distinction in the Master of Laws (LL.M.) programme from Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom.
The commendation was contained in a press statement signed by the Chairman of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Western Zone, Barr. Priye Noel Kuete, LL.M., who described the remarkable accomplishment as another landmark victory for the Ijaw Nation and a clear demonstration that Ijaw youths possess the intellectual capacity, discipline and determination to excel on the global stage when provided with the right opportunities.
According to the statement, Miss Egbekun’s latest achievement is not only a personal success but also a source of immense pride to her family, the people of Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom, the Ijaw Nation and the entire Niger Delta region.
The INC recalled that the young legal practitioner first distinguished herself academically in 2024 when she graduated with a First Class Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Michael and Cecilia Ibru University. Recognising her exceptional brilliance and enormous academic potential, the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), High Chief Dennis Otuaro, Ph.D., facilitated her sponsorship to pursue postgraduate studies at Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom.
The Congress noted that her graduation with Distinction has fully justified the confidence reposed in her, adding that her success further demonstrates the immense value of investing in quality education and human capital development.
The statement also praised High Chief Dennis Otuaro, Ph.D., for what it described as his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to developing young talents across the Niger Delta through the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
According to the INC Western Zone, the PAP under Otuaro’s leadership has consistently identified, supported and empowered exceptional young men and women irrespective of ethnicity, state of origin, clan or political affiliation, thereby creating opportunities for academic excellence, professional development and sustainable empowerment.
The Congress observed that the Programme’s sustained investments in education, scholarship schemes, skills acquisition and capacity development are laying a solid foundation for enduring peace, economic growth and sustainable development throughout the Niger Delta.
The INC further urged Niger Deltans to always acknowledge and celebrate leaders whose contributions are producing measurable positive impacts, stressing that while constructive criticism remains an important aspect of democratic governance, genuine achievements should equally receive public recognition and appreciation.
The organisation encouraged High Chief Dennis Otuaro to sustain and expand the educational and empowerment initiatives of the Presidential Amnesty Programme so that more talented youths from the region can benefit from similar life-changing opportunities.
The Congress also challenged beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme Scholarship Scheme and other educational interventions to emulate the dedication, discipline and commitment demonstrated by Miss Kemien Favor Egbekun.

Describing education as the greatest instrument for sustainable development, the INC emphasised that the true wealth of the Niger Delta lies not only beneath its soil in natural resources but also in the intellectual capacity of its people.
